The Barcelo Maya
Beach Resort on the Riviera Maya, one of five properties in the all-inclusive
Barcelo complex, has revamped its spa with a $6 million addition of a new hydrotherapy
circuit, a fitness center and a Kids Spa.
The $6 million spa project was on top of an $80 million renovation project completed earlier this year at the
complex. Other upgrades include 14 new meeting rooms in the Convention Center,
new restaurants (for a total of 20 on site), a water park with a surf-riding
attraction and the Maya Mall, a shopping and entertainment center with a
bowling alley, 24-hour sports bar and a miniature golf course.
The five resorts
in the Barcelo Riviera Maya complex are the Barcelo Maya Caribe Hotel, Barcelo
Maya Colonial Hotel, the Barcelo Maya Tropical Hotel and the Barcelo Maya
Palace Deluxe.
