Sandos Caracol Eco Resort & Spa on the Riviera Maya is offering day excursions to explore one of the cenotes, or underground swimming caves, that exist on the property.
"In an effort to uncover the natural beauty of the Sandos Caracol property, we cleared out many of the resort's 'jungle-like' areas and discovered approximately 16 natural cenotes," said Jacques De Paep, director of sales and marketing.
Participants board a canoe with a personal captain and float along the natural waterways surrounded by mangroves and lush fauna.
The trip is free to guests, and reservations must be made in advance at the hotel's front desk.
