Hoping to win back tourists, a Tijuana-based transportation consortium has launched a hop-on, hop-off bus tour of Tijuana's main tourist attractions.
The 15-mile Tijuana City Tour is operated by Mexicoach, a well-known border-transit company. The city tour starts and ends at the Tijuana Cultural Center, with more than a dozen stops in between. Tickets cost $10 for adults, with children 10 and younger riding for free.
The entire tour takes approximately two hours, with two-minute stops at each location enabling passengers to exit or board at each attraction. The open-air bus tour is led by bilingual tour guides whose narration has been researched through the Tijuana Historical Society.
Stops along Tijuana's downtown district include a winery and brewery, the city's restaurant row, Teniente Guerrero Park and the Plaza Rio shopping mall.
