Alaska Railroad rolls out pie-making class: Travel Weekly

The Alaska Railroad is teaming up with the Talkeetna Roadhouse this winter to offer a pie-making class where everyone takes home one of the roadhouse's famous pies.

Guests will board the Aurora Winter Train in Anchorage and head toward the quaint town of Talkeetna where they will take a pie-making class and overnight at the historic roadhouse. The railroad recommends guests take advantage of the roadhouse's reputation for putting on fabulous, big breakfasts and dine at the roadhouse the next morning before heading back to Anchorage.

The tour departs Saturdays from Oct. 8 to April 30. More information can be found at www.alaskarailroad.com/travel-planning/packages/talkeetna-getaway.
