The Anchorage Museum is constructing a new wing slated to open in fall 2017.
The addition to the Art of the North galleries will house more than 200 works from the museum's collections and add space to the museum's Discovery Center, an interactive display with more than 80 exhibits.
Nearly 25,000 square feet of space will be added to the existing museum building. The museum also is remodeling the Alaska Gallery, which opened in 1986. The gallery will be under construction from August 2016 through August 2017.
