The Waterline Marina Resort & Beach Club opened on Nov. 29 on Anna Maria Island, part of the three-key chain west of Bradenton that includes Longboat and Siesta. Located on the eastern shore of the island, it faces the open water where the Gulf of Mexico meets Tampa Bay.

The new Autograph Collection Hotel features 37 guestrooms and suites with complete kitchens; a 50-slip marina offering a variety of water activities; 2,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meetings space; Eliza Ann's Coastal Kitchen restaurant and bar; and a swimming pool with an oversize sun deck extending into the marina.

"Waterline seamlessly unites the island's Old Florida charm with new experiences, a modern coastal design and luxury amenities," said Joe Collier, president of Mainsail Lodging & Development, which developed and will operate the hotel.

Waterline's marina will be the center of aquatic activity at the resort, with boat slips for guests who arrive by water; charter boats for family outings, ecotours, guided fishing excursions, sailing adventures and sunset cruises; and stand-up paddleboard and kayak tours.

Waterline guests have full use of the Beach Club at sister property the Mainsail Beach Inn, which includes exclusive beach access, kayaks, lounge chairs, umbrellas and beach toys. A resort trolley will shuttle guests back and forth.

Mainsail Lodging & Development's portfolio contains three Florida properties, including Tampa's Epicurean Hotel, and has two more coming: the Fenway in Dunedin in 2018 and the Luminary Hotel & Co. in Fort Myers in 2019.

Rates start at $225.

CORRECTION: The Waterline Marina Resort & Beach Club is a member of Autograph Collection Hotels, not an AC Hotel as a previous version of this article stated.
