Chris Tucker, Sebastian Maniscalco, Ali Wong and John Cleese are the punchlines to a sterling lineup of stars at the Wynn Las Vegas' Encore Theater this summer and fall.
The theater's 1,480 seats offer a more intimate experience than many other Las Vegas venues -- all the better to see and hear legendary musicians and comedians at the top of their game.
"We're proud to offer a diverse, eclectic and highly selective roster of comedians to the Encore Theater," said Chris Hammond, AEG Presents Las Vegas talent buyer, earlier this year when introducing the lineup of comedians, which also included Seth Meyers and Jo Koy. "Similar to our featured musicians, these comedians typically play much larger venues, so we're excited to offer our guests the opportunity to experience these acts in a much more intimate and personable environment."
Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo perform Aug. 2 and 3, and Lionel Richie takes the stage Aug. 9 and 10.
Diana Ross continues her 75th birthday celebrations, "Diamond Diana," Aug. 14, 16, 17, 21, 23 and 24. In addition to performing internationally recognized chart-toppers, Ross engages the audience with a Q&A that lends insight to her career, which has garnered the American Music Award for Lifetime Achievement and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, among many other accolades.
The Motown music continues with Smokey Robinson on Sept. 18, 20 and 21. Fans can expect to hear hits such as "Cruisin'" and "The Tracks of My Tears" along with stories from Robinson's groundbreaking career as a singer-songwriter, record producer and record executive.
Blending elements of jazz, rock and psychedelic blues, the Steve Miller Band performs Oct. 2, 4 and 5.
Inspired by the 50th anniversary of Woodstock and his hit parade with Creedence Clearwater Revival, John Fogerty re-creates the sound and spirit of 1969 on Nov. 6, 8, 9, 13, 15 and 16. "My Fifty Year Trip" celebrates Fogerty's iconic songbook written, recorded and released in 1969. The show will have a montage of vintage photography and stories from the band's set at the festival as well as highlights from Fogerty's career since then.
The parade of comedians at Encore Theater begins with the raw observations of Ali Wong on Labor Day Weekend Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. Her Netflix specials, "Baby Cobra" and "Hard Knock Wife," received critical acclaim, as did her feature film, "Always Be My Maybe."
Chris Tucker, Sept. 28, and Sebastian Maniscalco, Oct. 12 and 13, continue the laughs. Tucker, detective James Carter in Brett Ratner's "Rush Hour" film series, has starred in films that have collectively grossed more than $1 billion in box office sales worldwide. Maniscalco's debut at the Wynn Las Vegas in May sold out; his all-new "You Bother Me" tour follows his hit "Stay Hungry" tour.
John Cleese makes his Wynn Las Vegas debut on Nov. 1 and 2. The Emmy Award-winning actor and author first gained wide attention in the Monty Python television and film series and played the role of Basil Fawlty in the hit British TV series, "Fawlty Towers." In 1988, he starred in "A Fish Called Wanda," which he also co-wrote.
Chosen to star in Amazon's first stand-up special, "Quality Time," which premieres on Aug. 16, Jim Gaffigan returns to Wynn Las Vegas' Encore Theater for back-to-back shows, "Secrets and Pies" on Dec. 5.
