On the heels of an understandably subpar year for the weddings industry, the Clark County Marriage License Bureau anticipates a busy 2021. And chapels expect a number of specialty dates, particularly during the second half of the year, to book up quickly.
"Couples planning their wedding in 2021 will have plenty of special dates to explore," Clark County clerk Lynn Goya said. "We had lines around the block all weekend long leading up to and on Valentine's Day of couples getting married, and one-of-a-kind dates like 4/3/21 are always immensely popular with more to come as we enter the last year of the decade with palindrome weeks."
Wedding dates with numeric sequences typically draw great interest in Vegas; for instance, 12/13/14 when 1,838 couples were married in Clark County. A record 4,492 marriages were performed on 7/7/07. The second most popular Vegas wedding date of all time was 11/11/11, when 3,125 couples were married; 10/10/10 witnessed 2,679 marriages, and 12/12/12 drew 1,817 couples.
Chapels in the "Wedding Capital of the World" have developed "microwedding" packages with less than 50 guests and even more intimate "minimony" packages with less than 10 guests. All-inclusive packages in a variety of price levels often offer streaming services to include off-site family and friends. All are following state-mandated health and safety protocols.
Among the most popular upcoming dates are 4/3/21, a Saturday in peak wedding season; palindrome week with 12/1/21, 12/2/21, 12/3/21, 12/4/21, 12/5/21, 12/6/21, 12/7/21, 12/8/21, 12/9/21; as well as 12/11/21, 12/22/21, 12/31/2, and 1/1/22.
