Further expansion for Anchorage Museum: Travel Weekly

The Anchorage Museum is growing again. The museum is adding approximately 25,000 square feet to create more exhibition space for its permanent art collection. The expansion that will add a story onto the existing east wing is expected to be completed in September 2017.

Museum Director and CEO Julie Decker said the project also entails renovating and updating the Alaska Gallery on the state's history and culture.

The new wing will house galleries, offices and a new member and donor lounge.  The museum will remain open during the $24 million project. However, the Alaska Gallery will be closed during construction. More information is available at www.anchoragemuseum.org.
