A country house hotel in Virginia is offering history buffs the opportunity to “trace the footsteps of the Founding Fathers” with a three-night package offered through March 31.
Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the 600-acre Keswick Estate is situated in the heart of horse country, east of Charlottesville, Va.
The estate forms the backdrop for Keswick Hall, a 48-room country house hotel called Keswick Club, a private facility featuring an 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature golf course and exclusive residential estate home sites.
Owned and managed by Orient-Express Hotels, the luxury property is an expanse of rolling hills and open meadows, “providing a tranquil environment away from the stresses of daily life.”
Guests at Keswick Hall have access to tennis courts, swimming pools, nature trails, a full fitness center and spa.
The plan covers two nights’ lodging at the club and tickets for two to the nearby homes of the first, third, fourth and fifth presidents: George Washington (Mount Vernon), Thomas Jefferson (Monticello), James Madison (Montpelier) and James Monroe (Ash Lawn Highland).
The third night’s accommodations are at the boutique Morrison House in Old Town Alexandria.
Also included is one dinner for two in Keswick’s restaurant, Fossett’s, and daily English breakfast for two. The rate is $929 per person.
