On the Strip, the 16th floor doesn't offer much of a view. You have to ride the elevator much higher to take in the skyline of obsidian pyramids, mini Eiffel Towers and Italianate palaces. But 13 miles south on Las Vegas Boulevard, the M Resort Spa Casino stands alone, a solitary sentinel welcoming visitors fresh off the Interstate 15 to the valley.
Its lonely location means that the resort owns a unique view of Las Vegas, one that's featured inside 16 — A Handcrafted Experience, the new cocktail bar and restaurant on the property's 16th floor. Opened in May, the bar serves dual menus of original and classic cocktails, including the 16 with — you guessed it! — 16 complementary flavors and familiar beverages like Negronis and sidecars. Guests can also assemble their own wine tasting via M Resort's "Wine ATM," which essentially puts 40 bottles on tap for one-, three- and five-ounce pours.
The food menu focuses on an eclectic selection of sharing dishes like tonkatsu ramen and wagyu beef cooked before your eyes on a sizzling stone. It's also available until 1 a.m., ideal for sating your hunger after that third Negroni.
16 — A Handcrafted Experience is open 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday through Tuesday. For more information visit, themresort.com
