Skyviews Miami, a 176-foot-tall Ferris wheel, has opened at the downtown Bayside Marketplace mall.
The observation wheel has been in the works since last year, but its opening was delayed by the pandemic and resulting permitting issues. It opened in late October on a Wednesday-through-Sunday schedule.
The wheel includes 42 enclosed, air-conditioned gondolas that offer vistas of Biscayne Bay, Bayfront Park and the downtown Miami skyline. One VIP Gondola features leather bucket seats, a custom LED light show and a glass floor.
Prices for a 15-minute ride are pegged at $16.82 for adults and $14.85 for juniors ages 4 to 12, with discounts for seniors, active military and Florida residents. A VIP gondola ride is longer, 45 minutes, and is priced at $50 per person.
