Xavier Mortimer, a magician whose videos drew acclaim during the pandemic, has opened a show in the renovated theater at the Strat Hotel, Casino & Skypod.
"The Dream Maker" features original illusions, comedy and a poetic storyline. French theater director and television host Alex Goude produces and directs the family-friendly production.
Mortimer, who starred in Cirque du Soleil's "Michael Jackson One" for three years, has appeared on "America's Got Talent," "Masters of Illusion" and "Penn and Teller Fool Us." He was a headliner at Planet Hollywood and Bally's for five years before coming to the Strat.
During the pandemic, Mortimer's illusions received more than five billion views on social media as of May, and more than 10 million followers in one year. One was the most viewed video on Facebook in June 2020 with more than 354 million views.
"Xavier Mortimer -- the Dream Maker" opens at 6 p.m. nightly except Tuesdays. Tickets, priced at $39 to $89 (plus tax and fees), can be purchased at XavierMortimer.com.
