The U.S. Travel Association's annual trade show, IPW, has been moved from May to September of 2021 to provide additional time for international long-haul travel to the U.S. to broadly resume.
The new dates, Sept. 18 to 21, are also designed to give attendees more time to plan to join the event in-person.
IPW was supposed to take place in Las Vegas this past May 10 to 14 but was canceled due to the Covid-19 crisis, marking the first time the event had been canceled since its inception in 1969.
The previously scheduled 2021 host city, Chicago, agreed to step aside next year and will assume the host mantle in 2025. Other future host sites -- Orlando in 2022, San Antonio in 2023 and Los Angeles in 2024 -- remain unchanged.
CORRECTED: Due to an editing error, this report originally stated that the event was being held in Las Vegas for the first time in 2021. IPW has actually taken place in the city on four occasions since its inception in 1969.
