Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air will begin nonstop service between Las Vegas and Reno in February. There will be two flights a week, on Fridays and Sundays, with flights leaving McCarran Airport at 10 a.m. on those days and returning the same day at 3:30 p.m. This is in direct competition with Southwest Airlines, which also offers a nonstop flight.

In addition, Southwest recently announced that it would begin flying nonstop from Las Vegas to Wichita, Kan., daily, beginning in June. Again, Southwest will compete on the route with Allegiant Air, which currently has four flights a week to and from Wichita. Nonstop flights to Wichita will leave Las Vegas at 5:35 p.m., and the return flight will leave Wichita at 11:20 a.m.
