Thrill-seekers have a new towering water slide to ride at SeaWorld Orlando’s Aquatica water park.
The park bills Ihu’s Breakaway Falls as the only multidrop tower slide of its kind in the southern U.S.
Shortly after riders step into one of three clear “breakaway boxes,” the floor drops out, sending them into a vertical plunge and then into a corkscrew descent in a clear-plastic tube before splashing down in the pool below. A fourth slide offers a more traditional launch, where riders can push themselves over the edge.
The 80-foot slide is named after Ihu, Aquatica Orlando's gecko mascot. The new attraction opens to the public on May 9.
