The 349-room tower now under construction near the Swan and Dolphin hotels at Walt Disney World will open as the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve. The hotel had been rising under a previous name, the Cove Tower.
The design of the new hotel is contemporary rather than reflecting the circa 1990s designs of the Swan and Dolphin with their oversize rooftop sculpture.
The hotel, scheduled to open in the summer of 2021, will be leased by Marriott International/Tishman Hotel Corp., the same partnership that leases the Swan and Dolphin hotels. Like those hotels, it will cater to conventions and groups.
