The AAA Five-Diamond Ponte Vedra Inn & Club turns 90 this year and is celebrating with special events that mark the decades since the resort opened on the ocean southeast of Jacksonville in 1928. It's also offering an over-the-top 90 Year Anniversary Grand Celebration package that costs $90,000.

The resort rang in the new year with a Gatsby-style New Year's Eve party, set firmly in the era of its debut in 1928. It plans to celebrate the ensuing decades with events like a 1940s WWII Officer Ball Dinner on March 10; a '50s Friday-Night Sock Hop on Aug. 31; a '60s theme Surf Club Deck Dance on Sept. 1; a '70s Studio "28" Disco on June 10; and an '80s Halloween Masquerade Ball on Sept. 27.

The anniversary package includes transportation by helicopter or private jet; a three-night stay in the Penthouse Suite; a his-and-hers half-day spa experience with exclusive use of the spa; unique and private meal experiences such as a customized Chef's Table dinner situated at the end of the cooking line in the heart of the kitchen; and unlimited Dom Perignon throughout the stay. The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is within an exclusive residential community; the 249 guestrooms are located within 10 low-rise beachfront buildings. Its events and amenities are only available to club members and to hotel guests.

Guests at either the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club or its sister property, the 66-room Lodge & Club, have access to all amenities at both hotels.
