The puppets are back. Ever since "Avenue Q" closed its Las Vegas run in 2006, Sin City has been woefully deprived of crass, offensive puppets.

That void is about to be filled by a new show opening at The Venetian on July 21, "Puppet Up! Uncensored."

The show will feature a revolving cast of six pro puppeteers with irreverent and unpredictable styles of comedy who will bring to life more than 60 puppet characters for both scripted and improv scenes. The show is produced by Brian Henson, son of legendary puppeteer Jim Henson, who hand-selected the puppeteers.

"Our cast is six hilarious improv comedians who are also wildly skilled Henson puppeteers," said show host and director Patrick Bristow in a release. "I love that I get to go out there every night and watch them amaze and delight the audience. Half my job is just to shape their delicious insanity into a great show. The other half of my job is basically getting to enjoy them just like the audience."

The show will launch with a cast of experienced and talented puppeteers including Grant Baciocco, who has worked for the Jim Henson Co. and "Mystery Science Theater 3000"; Ted Michaels, an alum of the Groundlings who has also worked on "The Muppets"; and Michael Oosterom, who worked on "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and "Where the Wild Things Are."
