AmaWaterways is partnering with Metropolitan Touring to offer a cruise of the Magdalena River in Colombia.

In December 2023, the partners will introduce a custom-built, all-suite river ship that will sail seven-day cruises of the Magdalena.

Guests will be able to choose between two itineraries with pre- and post-cruise land programs. AmaWaterways said guests will "enjoy in-depth connections with local nature, wildlife, culture, flavors and people, as well as activities such as kayaking, hiking, and birdwatching." The onboard team will include a wellness manager.

The partnership will draw on AmaWaterways president Rudi Schreiner's years of experience designing ships and Metropolitan's experience in expedition cruising. Based in Ecuador, Metropolitan Touring owns three expedition vessels in the Galapagos.

Itineraries are in development, with more details anticipated in the coming weeks.
