AmaWaterways has developed a more diverse selection of itineraries for sailings along the Mekong River in Vietnam and Cambodia by adding more pre- and post-cruise extensions.

For 2018, AmaWaterways' Mekong itineraries will include the seven-day Charms of the Mekong upstream itinerary from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, toward Siem Reap, Cambodia, which can also be booked as a 15-day cruise-and-land program with two nights in Ho Chi Minh City, two nights in Siem Reap, three nights in Hanoi and one night in Ha Long Bay, both in Vietnam, or as a 10-day cruise and land program followed by three nights in Siem Reap.

The same itinerary and extensions can also be booked downstream, from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh City, on the Riches of the Mekong itinerary.

AmaWaterways will also host its first wine-themed cruise in Asia in 2018. The March 26 sailing will be hosted by Sbragia Family Vineyards from California's Dry Creek Valley, and will feature onboard wine lectures and tastings during the Mekong River cruise.

AmaWaterways' Southeast Asia itineraries take place on the 124-passenger AmaDara, which features private twin balconies — a French balcony adjacent to a step-out one — off each stateroom, as well as a spa, a pool on the sun deck and a fitness room. There is a main dining room as well as the alternative dining option, the Chef's Table restaurant.
