AMSTERDAM -- Amadeus River Cruises will sail its first ship in Portugal in April 2028, the company announced at the ASTA River Cruise Expo.

Amadeus will build and operate its own ship, the Amadeus Douro. The 55-cabin ship will have hybrid electric engines.

The ship will sail a seven-night cruise roundtrip from Porto. The itinerary is yet to come.

Amadeus will launch the Amadeus Aurea later this year on the Rhine and Danube.
