Avalon Waterways is expanding its Storyteller Series with the addition of one of the stars from the Starz television series 'Outlander.'
Scottish actor Graham McTavish, who plays Dougal McKenzie and William "Buck" MacKenzie on 'Outlander,' will host an itinerary from Basel to Amsterdam on the Rhine River called Kiltn' It: Facts, Fiction & Fairytale Settings on the Rhine.
McTavish's Kiltn' It Storyteller cruise will depart on Oct. 12, 2024.
Avalon Waterways president Pamela Hoffee made the announcement during the general session of the second annual ASTA River Cruise Expo, which was held at the InterContinental in Budapest.
Hoffee said a promotional video that the company produced last year featuring McTavish garnered so many positive reviews when it was shared on social media, with users commenting that they would book an Avalon cruise if McTavish were sailing. So Avalon created the itinerary featuring McTavish.
"We always build our product around what our guests are looking for," Hoffee said at the conference.
