Century Cruises, an operator of river cruises in China, has promoted David Fredericks to president and general manager of its Americas division. He was previously senior vice president of sales and marketing.

The company said the promotion signaled its commitment to global expansion. Earlier this year, Century announced its expansion to Europe with a partnership with United Waterways. It will build three ships to ply European rivers and plans to expand to the Nile within two years.

"As we continue to expand globally, his leadership, deep market understanding and passion for creating extraordinary guest experiences will further strengthen our international brand and contribute to the long-term sustainable development of Century Cruises."
