Crystal River Cruises has become the first river cruise company focused on the North American market to pull the plug on its 2020 season in Europe.

The company posted notice of the suspension on its website July 31, around the same time its parent company, Crystal Cruises, sent a notice that it was canceling all ocean sailings on the Crystal Symphony, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Esprit.

This week, Crystal River Cruises also announced it was expanding its Crystal Clean+ health and safety protocols across its fleet of four river ships when they resume sailing.
