Newly formed U.S. river cruise company French America Line has tapped Inland Marine Service to handle all of its marine operations.

French America Line recently purchased the former Majestic America Line vessel Columbia Queen from Xanterra and is refurbishing the 150-passenger vessel to be relaunched as a Mississippi river cruiser in August as the Louisiane.

Based in Hebron, Ky., Inland Marine Service, Inc. is one of the largest inland vessel management companies in the U.S., and is responsible for keeping vessels crewed with skilled mariners. The company’s services include vessel management, planned maintenance, compliance management, harbor services, liquid operations, as well as tankering services.

The Louisiane is currently undergoing a multimillion dollar refurbishment to reflect a French-inspired design. The ship will begin sailing itineraries along the Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee, Cumberland and Red rivers, and the waterways of the Gulf Coast beginning Aug. 22.
