Next year, Viking will launch the 190-passenger Viking Bragi, Viking Forseti Viking Rinda, Viking Skadi, Viking Tor and Viking Var, sister ships to the half-dozen Longships being launched this year. All the Viking Longships will sail along the Main, Rhine and Danube rivers.

Additionally, Viking is introducing several new itineraries in 2013, including a 23-day European Sojourn, from Amsterdam to Bucharest; a 22-day Grand Rivers of Europe from Basel to Budapest; a 10-day Portugal’s River of Gold along the Douro River and on to Spain; and an 18-day China Explorer itinerary, including Beijing, Xian and Chengdu.

The company has also added two new optional land extensions for 2013: a three-day extension called Oxford & Highclere Castle, the Real “Downton Abbey”; and a three-day Barcelona extension that passengers can add prior to southern France cruises.
