Gavin MacLeod, the former “Love Boat” star and current Princess Cruises ambassador, was feted last week at an 80th birthday party held, fittingly, aboard the Golden Princess in Los Angeles.
MacLeod’s heart is still very much with the line where his Love Boat character, Captain Stubing, spent nine years at the helm. The “Captain” was presented with a 5-foot-long, 160-pound, cake designed as a replica of the Pacific Princess, which took 60 hours for pastry chefs to make.
