Allegiant Travel Company will promote its president, Greg Anderson, to CEO.
The change will take effect on Sept. 1, as current CEO Maury Gallagher once again steps down.
Anderson has been with Allegiant since 2010. He served as CFO during the pandemic before transitioning to president.
Gallagher was Allegiant's CEO for 21 years before stepping aside in June 2022. He returned to the post last October after the sudden departure of John Redmond. Gallagher will continue in his role as Allegiant's board chairman.
Allegiant Air, which has a unique business model that focuses on small airports and point-to-point routes not served by other airlines, has been outperforming its struggling discount competitors recently. In the first quarter, the airline had net income of $11.4 million and an operating margin of 6.4%.
