KRALENDIJK, Bonaire -- BonairExel, a new airline based in Bonaire, will launch service from Bonaire to Aruba and Curacao, and between Aruba and Curacao Aug. 18, subject to approval by the Antillean government. Commission to agents is 6%.

The sole shareholder of the airline is Bonaire Management Group, which represents the government of Bonaire.

A BMG spokesman said that "within months, the airline will have private owners."

The carrier will offer 14 daily flights between Bonaire and Curacao, six daily flights between Bonaire and Aruba and four daily flights between Curacao and Aruba, using 46-seat ATR42 turboprop planes.

The carrier plans to add service later this year to St. Maarten on a 50-seat Embrarer-145 jet. The airline's Web site at www.bonairexel.com is expected to be fully operational by the end of the month with scheduling and booking information.

The airline will also participate in Sabre and Worldspan.
