Starting June 1, JetBlue and Delta passengers flying out of Boston Logan will be able to undergo TSA-staffed security screening at a remote terminal in Framingham, Mass., and then take a bus to a post-security area at the airport.
Flyers drop their bags at the Framingham facility and can check in there, too.
Passengers flying Delta will be dropped off at Gate A18 in Terminal A, while JetBlue customers will be dropped off at Gate C8 in Terminal C.
The Massachusetts Airport Authority (Massport) calls the pilot program the first of its kind.
The operator of the service is Landline Company, which charges $9 each way for the shuttle ride. Patrons pay $7 per day to park in Framingham, which is about 25 miles from Boston Logan.
Eligible customers must have a flight departure between 5:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Travelers can book the service on Massport's website up to 90 days before departure. As this is a pilot program, Massport says availability is limited and recommends booking early.
