Frontier Airlines has retired its final Airbus A319, leaving the carrier only with larger Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, including new-generation A320neos.

The discount airline's last A319 operation traveled on Sept. 8 from Nashville to Denver. Frontier had 150 seats on its A319 aircraft, compared with 180 seats on its A320s and 230 seats on its A321s.
Frontier is touting the A319 phase-out as a move toward greater efficiency per passenger.
The airline's remaining fleet of 108 in-service planes includes 71 A320neos, according to the website Planespotters. The average aircraft age in the fleet is 4.1 years.
