JetBlue delays LaGuardia service launch

NEW YORK -- Although JetBlue is moving ahead with increased service at JFK, the low-fare carrier is delaying its plan to start service from New York' s LaGuardia.

JetBlue pushed back the launch date for LaGuardia from this spring to late summer while it resolves "facilities issues" with the Federal Aviation Administration and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

JetBlue, however, isn't slowing down at Kennedy. The airline said it will operate 35% more flights at Kennedy this summer than last summer, including additional flights to Rochester, Buffalo and New Orleans and a daytime flight to Denver to complement its red-eye service.
