JetBlue has
implemented its new fare structure and has begun charging a $20 fee for the
first checked bag to customers who purchase the least expensive fare option.
The airline
announced in November that it would introduce bundled fares and enact a bag fee.
There are now
four fare options: Blue, Blue Plus, Blue Flex and Mint (JetBlue’s premium cabin
with lie-flat seats).
Blue Plus fares
include a checked bag, and Blue Flex and Mint fares include two.
Those who
purchase Blue Flex fares can change or cancel a reservation without charge and
receive expedited security screening.
