NEW YORK -- Several carriers unleashed postholiday fare
sales:
Continental's After Christmas sale offers reduced fares for
travel through March.
Sample rates include New York (Newark)-Rome, $338 roundtrip, and
New York (Newark)-Los Angeles, $456 roundtrip. Tickets must be
purchased by Jan. 22, and a Saturday-night stay is required.
AirTran Airlines and AirTran Airways launched a systemwide sale
with rates ranging from $29 to $99 through Jan. 21 for travel
through March 11.TWA said it cut fares by up to 45% in some markets through
March. The sale ends on Jan. 22. Sample midweek fares include St.
Louis-Paris, $398; San Francisco-Milan, Italy, $488, and New
York-Tel Aviv, Israel, $799.
