SkyEurope, a low-cost carrier based in Slovakia, suspended operations on Tuesday.

The airline operated short-haul routes from bases in Slovakia, Czech Republic and Austria.

The airline advised customers who purchased flights with a credit card to seek a refund from the card issuer. SkyEurope said customers who purchased tickets by other means probably won't get a refund.

SkyEurope launched in 2002. At the time of its demise, SkyEurope flew 13 Boeing 737s and served 38 destinations in Europe.
