Southwest's buildup of interline partners continues with the addition of Turkish Airlines. Single-ticket itineraries will be made available early next year through Turkish Airlines and travel agency channels.
A specific launch date has not been announced. Joint itineraries won't initially be available for booking on Southwest's website and app, since the airline is still developing the technological capability to support bookings on partner airlines.
Turkish flies from Istanbul to 14 U.S. destinations, and the Southwest partnership will include 10 of them. It is by far the largest airline with which Southwest has partnered.
Southwest began interlining with Icelandair, Eva Air, China Airlines and Philippine Airlines this year, ending its longtime policy of avoiding cross-carrier partnerships. A partnership with German carrier Condor will begin Jan. 19.
