Spirit Airlines has created a "$9 Fare
Club" in which customers will pay a fee for exclusive access to
extremely low sale fares.
In recent months,
Spirit has launched sales for fares as low as $8, $5 and even $1.
The new club offers its members "private access to amazingly low,
member-only fares," and chief marketing officer Barry Biffle told
TravelWeekly.com that refers to fares for $9 or
lower.
"We'll still do
public sales, but we're going to migrate to exclusive sales,"
Biffle said.
Spirit promises
club members the low fares will be offered at least once every six
weeks. It is offering a three-month trial membership in the club
for $9, but said after that the membership will cost $29.95 for a
full year.
It's also
offering a free membership to customers who get the Spirit
MasterCard credit card and use it at least once a month.
