CHICAGO -- United Airlines added two features to its United.com Web site,
which will enable travelers to print an e-ticket receipt on line
and download flight schedules to their computers so they can refer
to the schedules when Internet access isn't available.
"Customers today are telling us to bring more services to the
Web," said Rick Collins, director of marketing for United's
e-commerce division. "We're continually adding new site features so
we can offer our customers the information they need, when they
need it and in the format they prefer."
The e-ticket receipt provides travelers with a breakdown of
fare, tax and total, as well as special messages regarding
ticketing fees. E-receipts also provide United customers with the
proof of onward travel necessary during international travel.
Receipts also list itinerary information, such as aircraft type
and the number of Mileage Plus miles to be awarded for the
flight.
Any visitor to the Web site can use the e-ticket receipt
feature, regardless of whether they're registered with united.com.
Registered members can save their receipts for up to 13 months on
line.
