FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Alamo took the wraps off its remodeled Fort Lauderdale facility, which has been redesigned to meet the needs of leisure travelers.

The rental company, which is based here, said the renovated facility will offer a host of features never seen in the industry.

The revamped location will have multilingual information kiosks, a play area for children, luggage lockers, changing areas (for adults, not infants), clearer signage and a small shopping area where customers can pick up suntan lotion or sandwiches.

The company projects that 31 locations will have work of some kind completed by the end of the year. Five, in Orlando, Tampa, Denver, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, are slated to get a complete refurbishment.
