American Express Global
Business Travel has promoted Philippe Chereque to the newly created position of
president.
For the past two
years, Chereque has overseen the company's commercial and product technology
organizations as the chief commercial and technology officer. In his new
position, he will continue that role, and will also be responsible for supplier
relations, marketing and consulting.
Chereque joined American Express Business Travel in 2014. Before that, he was executive vice president of commercial operations at Amadeus Technology Group.
Chereque
will be the interim leader of sales in the Americas; Elyes Mrad will
continue to lead sales in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region; and David
Reimer will continue to lead sales in the Asia-Pacific region.
“Philippe’s new role is part of our larger strategic
imperative to restructure our commercial group into regional teams in
an effort to better serve our customers,” American Express Global Business Travel CEO Doug Anderson said in a
statement. “We are confident that this structure, under Philippe’s proven
guidance, will foster a closer working relationship with our customers offering
global reach and local expertise.”
