NEW YORK -- American Express Business Travel said it will offer its TrackPoint Global Security Solution to its U.S.-based clients and will expand its availability globally in the next few months.

TrackPoint is a tool that enables travel managers to locate their traveling employees' itineraries by country, state, province and city in the event of a security-related incident.

In another initiative, Amex expanded its Preferred Extras Hotel Program from 13 chains to 29.

The program, introduced in 2004, provides best-available, unrestricted rates, Amex said, and sometimes includes amenities like free high-speed Internet access and entrance to fitness facilities and club rooms.

Participating chains include Carlson Hotels Worldwide, Hilton, Omni Hotels and Wyndham.
