ROCHESTER, Wis. -- Female business travelers are more likely to
stick to corporate travel policies than are their male co-workers,
according to a survey of corporate travel managers conducted by
Runzheimer International, a consulting firm based here.
The company polled 44 corporate travel managers, and 65% of
those surveyed said they believe women are better at following
policies than are men.
Also, 69% of female business travelers are more likely to order
room service, and 80% are more likely to stay in hotels closer to
their destination. (Men are far more likely -- 88% -- to stay near
the airport.)
Furthermore, the survey showed that 61% of managers said they
believe women are more likely to use the corporate travel
department to book travel needs.
Travel managers nearly unanimously (96%) said there is no
distinction in travel policies for their male and female
employees.
Female travelers are not granted exceptions, for the most part,
though managers noted instances when women have scheduled a more
accommodating flight due to family concerns or hired a car late at
night instead of using a taxi.
