Carlson
Wagonlit Travel, No.2 on Travel Weekly's 2007 Power List, agreed to
purchase the assets of Polo Viaggi from the Pirelli Group in Milan,
Italy, and take over the management of business travel for the
Pirelli Group, one of Italy's largest industrial enterprises.
Pirelli has nearly
30,000 employees in more than 160 countries. Polo Viaggi has been
in operation for 20 years.
With the addition of the
Pirelli account, volume for CWT Italia is projected to exceed $850
million in 2008.
