TORONTO -- Expedia Corporate Travel Canada was expected to launch Jan. 31, targeting small- to mid-size corporations.

The business, headquartered here, includes rates from low-cost carriers WestJet and CanJet. Online air bookings include a transaction fee of $9 plus tax, and agent-assisted bookings cost $25 plus tax for domestic flights.

World Access Canada, a travel insurer headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario, is one of the launch clients.

ECT Canada [www.expediacorporate.ca] is geared toward Canadian-based companies and U.S. corporations with offices in Canada. It is available in English only.

Expedia Inc. revealed its intention last summer to roll out a Canada offering. Omar Ahmad, a founder of Expedias leisure site in Canada, is managing director of ECT Canada, heading product development, marketing, supplier relations, operations and sales.

ECT has operations in the U.S. and Europe, as well.
