LAS VEGAS -- Travelbyus, the Reno, Nev.-based travel industry roll up that acquired 21 companies in the last year, acquired SiteRabbit.com, a technology company based in San Diego. SiteRabbit's president, J. Michael London, former president of Cruise Holidays International, has joined Travelbyus as president of the new technology division.

TravelbyUs, owned by publicly traded Aviation Group, paid $10 million in Aviation Group stock for SiteRabbit. SiteRabbit, which is developing a new TravelbyUs Web site that will include a booking engine from ITA Software, will remain based in San Diego.

London said Travelbyus expects to have at least 70% of the 2,700 travel agencies affiliated with the company operating with new Web sites and linked to the Travelbyus site by the first of the year.

Travelbyus includes three consortia: International Tours/Galaxsea, Bell Travel Systems and Cruise & Vacation Shoppes.
