BLUE BELL, Pa. -- Unisys Corp. announced plans to expand its
corporate travel services business with a comprehensive line of
programs for travel agencies, corporate travel managers and
business travelers.
Unisys said its "travel alliance services" offer four distinct
but complementary programs that manage and control several of the
more labor-intensive processes within the travel industry. "The
travel alliance services are customer-driven, Unisys-designed
offerings that are aligned with our core competencies and
reemphasize our commitment to delivering value to our clients,"
said Robert Evans, vice president and general manager for Unisys
Outsourcing.
"These state-of-the-art applications, coupled with our ongoing
technology support and management services, will help our travel
clients reengineer and improve these key business processes as well
as refocus their resources on strategic operations." These services
include the following:
UniTrex, an on-line travel expense processing, reporting and
payment service. UniTrex combines software and related services to
provide a program for expense management, including the creation of
expense reports, auditing, approval, reimbursement and management
reporting.UniRes travel reservations management services. UniRes is a
Web-based program that simplifies the travel reservations process
and reduces the cost of making travel arrangements, Unisys said.
Travelers can use UniRes to access airline, hotel and car rental
reservations through their corporate Internet service provider.
Travel managers can use UniRes to communicate and enforce travel
policies on line, Unisys added.UniTracs travel agency accounting services. UniTracs is a
system of back-office data processing and reporting for travel
agencies. UniTracs eliminates the need to buy niche software for
commission tracking, general ledger, group business, client
reporting and other requirements, the vendor claimed.UniView, an integrated travel reporting and data warehousing
system. UniView is a reporting tool designed to allow travel
managers to create and review travel reports, which are needed to
analyze travel and spending patterns. Unisys is one of a growing
number of companies offering third-party software and consulting
services to the travel industry.
