As many as 200,000 foreigners with business and tourism visas in the U.S. could have their status revoked by the Trump administration, according to a report by The Associated Press.
The report, which AP said was based on U.S. State Department documents and two U.S. officials, said the State Department is preparing to announce revocation of B1 and B2 visas -- issued for business and tourism, family visit or medical care -- that have been issued since 2016 whose holders have sought or are seeking asylum. If revoked, the visa holders would not necessarily be deported immediately but would lose their status as business and tourism travelers, according to AP.
If the revocation happens as reported, it would be the largest mass revocations of visas at once in U.S. history, and the move also likely would face legal challenges, according to the report.
