ORLANDO -- Disney unveiled a model room for its Riviera
Resort, which is scheduled to open at Disney World in December.
The European-themed property will be the 15th to join Disney's
Vacation Club timeshare program.
The model Riviera Resort accommodation on display at the
Disney Vacation Club Preview Center at Disney Springs is a two-bedroom
configuration created by connecting a one-bedroom villa and a deluxe studio.
Both the villa and studio feature a Murphy-style foldout bed.
Manufactured by Inova, the foldout bed will launch at Riviera Resort before
being rolled out at other Disney properties, including the soon-to-be-renovated
Saratoga Springs.
Disney unveils Riviera room model
"We got feedback from vacation club members that sofa
beds weren't always the comfiest or easiest to open, said Leigh Anne Nieman,
director of member experiences for Disney Vacation Club. "So, we created a
solution for that."
Additionally, Riviera Resort will be the first Disney
property to offer a new tower studio room category. Designed to accommodate a
couple, a tower studio will be around 255 square feet and will maximize space
with the use of the Inova foldout bed. By comparison, a deluxe studio at Disney
starts at around 350 square feet.
The model spaces also showcase Disney character-inspired artwork
created exclusively for the property.
Riviera Resort is currently accepting guest reservations for
stays starting in December. Accommodations at Riviera Resort, as well as at all
other Disney Vacation Club properties, can be booked by both Vacation Club
members and non-members.
