With the rapid spread of the Covid-19 delta variant, Disney has reintroduced mask requirements for guests ages 2 and up at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando and the Disneyland Resort in Southern California.
Starting July 30, both destinations will require that visitors wear face coverings while indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Masks will also be necessary while riding enclosed transportation, including Disney buses, the monorail and the Disney Skyliner gondola.
In outdoor common areas, face coverings remain optional.
Under Disney's mask policy, face coverings should have two layers and fully cover the nose and mouth. The company said on its website that costume masks are not considered appropriate and are prohibited from being worn.
Although guests will not be required to show any proof of vaccination at either resort, Disneyland will ask that all guests attest that they're aware that "the state of California strongly recommends that guests be fully vaccinated or obtain a negative Covid-19 test prior to entering the Disneyland Resort."
